George P. Beal helped found The Boston Family Office and now is its Managing Partner as well as a portfolio manager.
Previously George was a Vice President at the Cambridge Trust Company, handling various duties ranging from commercial loans to branch management. Prior to that he was with the Bank of New England, working in a variety of areas from retail banking, operations, credit training to commercial finance.
George earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. In addition, he is a graduate of the National Trust School.
George is a Trustee of Northeast Investors Trust, an income oriented mutual fund. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Breckinridge Capital Advisors, a manager of fixed income portfolios.
As a volunteer, George serves on the board of Homeowners Rehab, Inc., a provider of low-income housing in Cambridge. He is also a member of the Council for the Arts at MIT, the Advisory Board for the Trustees of Reservations, and the investment committee of the Cambridge Community Foundation. He formerly served on the Board of Trustees and the Investment Committee of the Shady Hill School and on the Board of Directors of the Brookline Music School.
He lives in Cambridge with his wife Barbara.
