George Putnam, III helped found The Boston Family Office and is a partner, although he is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm.
Currently, George is the President of New Generation Advisors, which manages funds investing in distressed securities, and Chairman of New Generation Research which publishes several written and online resources on the bankruptcy and turnaround field. George also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Putnam Funds.
George earned a BA from Harvard College, and a JD and MBA from Harvard Law School and Business School respectively.
He is a Trustee of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA and the Epiphany School in Dorchester, MA and formerly served on the St. Mark's School Board of Trustees as a Trustee and later as Chairman. He also sits on the investment committees of several other nonprofit organizations.
He lives on the North Shore with his wife Kathy. Two of his children live in Boston and a third in New York City.
